PERFORMING
Do you play a musical instrument? I play the keyboard and piano. I've played for years. Alone. Only for myself. Why? Because I've been too afraid of making mistakes in front of people (including my own family)! At this stage of my life I've finally decided enough of that. It's time to play without headphones all the time. It's the most unnerving thing I STILL do! So this is one area fear is crippling me. One of my first efforts then is to record my performances and put them on the internet. Do you have that fear too? If so, I invite you to give this suggestion a try. Yes, it still is scary, but you know if you goof, you can correct it. I'd also invite you to try using the app CHORDIFY. No matter what your skills level, CHORDIFY has you covered. The best part is that you play along with a band and typically along with a vocalist! I've posted some samples below along with pieces I'm creating and just regular pieces I'm reading from my computer. I'd love to hear from you and know how you deal with your fear!

It's great! And it's a wonderful way to give you that feeling of being part of a band without the fear attached to it. With time, you build your confidence and might discover a willingness - even an eagerness - to perform in front of those you trust!

ODE TO FREEDOM
I enjoy composing music on my keyboards. I have two keyboards: a Casio and a Roland. They are very different and I use them for different purposes. This piece that I'm working on is done on my Roland. Eventually I hope for it to sound like an orchestra, but I have to get the fundamental theme down first. It's been on the back burner lately with setting up this website taking priority.
